PART 2: The Widow They Tried to Erase
Rain hammered against the towering glass windows of Holloway Tower while Manhattan glowed cold beneath the midnight storm.
Inside the executive boardroom—
silence ruled everything.
A massive black marble table stretched beneath dim golden lights.
Corporate lawyers.
Investors.
Board members.
All waiting.
At the head of the table sat Lucas Holloway wearing Owen’s former chairman seat like it already belonged to him.
Confident.
Smug.
Untouchable.
Margaret Holloway stood beside the city windows holding a crystal glass of wine.
“The transition becomes official tonight,” she said calmly.
Outside—
lightning flashed across New York.
Then suddenly—
the boardroom doors opened.
Every head turned instantly.
Arya Bennett walked inside.
Black dress.
Rain-soaked coat.
Cold steady eyes.
The room immediately tensed.
Lucas leaned back slowly with a mocking smile.
“You’re trespassing.”
Arya said nothing.
Behind her—
three unfamiliar men in dark tailored suits entered quietly carrying black document cases.
The atmosphere changed instantly.
One of the older investors frowned nervously.
“Who are they?”
Arya slowly removed her gloves.
Then calmly placed a single black folder onto the marble table.
“Before Owen died… he transferred controlling ownership.”
Silence.
Lucas laughed once.
Short.
Arrogant.
“That’s impossible.”
Arya slid the folder toward him.
“Open it.”
Thunder shook the skyscraper windows.
Lucas grabbed the papers aggressively.
Then froze.
Color drained from his face instantly.
Page after page revealed verified ownership transfers.
Offshore accounts.
Voting control agreements.
Executive authorization seals.
Everything signed legally by Owen Holloway himself.
Margaret stepped forward sharply.
“What is this?”
Arya finally looked directly at her.
“This is Owen planning for the day his family betrayed me.”
The room became deathly silent.
One board member slowly adjusted his glasses while reading the final document.
Then whispered—
“My God…”
At the bottom of the final page—
one company name stood alone in bold letters.
BENNETT STRATEGIC HOLDINGS.
The hidden corporation nobody inside Holloway Holdings even knew existed.
Lucas slammed the papers onto the table violently.
“This is fraud!”
“No,” another lawyer interrupted quietly.
Fear spread across his face.
“It’s legitimate.”
The storm outside intensified.
Lightning illuminated the entire boardroom white for one terrifying second.
Margaret stared at Arya with growing horror.
“You planned this?”
Arya’s expression never changed.
“No.”
She stepped closer to the table slowly.
“Owen did.”
Silence crushed the room.
Then suddenly—
every screen inside the boardroom turned black.
Investors jerked upward in confusion.
“What’s happening?”
A loading symbol appeared across the monitors.
Then confidential files began appearing one after another.
Secret payments.
Illegal acquisitions.
Bribery reports.
Political blackmail records.
Gasps spread across the room.
Lucas shot to his feet instantly.
“TURN THOSE OFF!”
But nobody moved.
Because the evidence flooding the screens was catastrophic.
Federal-level catastrophic.
One terrified executive backed away from the table.
Another reached for his phone with shaking hands.
Margaret looked toward Arya like she was seeing a stranger for the first time.
“You’re destroying this company…”
Arya slowly shook her head.
“No.”
Her eyes hardened.
“I’m destroying the people who poisoned it.”
Thunder exploded above Manhattan.
Then—
the boardroom doors opened again.
This time—
federal agents entered.
Dark jackets.
Gold badges.
Cold expressions.
The lead agent stepped forward calmly.
“Lucas Holloway. Margaret Holloway.”
He opened a warrant slowly beneath the flashing city lights.
“You are both under federal investigation for conspiracy, fraud, obstruction of justice, and financial corruption.”
Panic detonated instantly.
Lucas backed away from the agents.
Margaret’s wine glass slipped from her fingers and shattered across the marble floor.
Outside—
camera flashes already exploded beneath the skyscraper entrance far below.
The empire was collapsing in real time.
And standing in the center of the chaos—
Arya remained perfectly still.
Not smiling.
Not celebrating.
Only watching.
Because the woman they called weak…
quiet…
replaceable…
had just burned down a billionaire dynasty with the secrets her husband trusted only to her.
