PART 2: The Truth Beneath the Chandeliers
The luxurious dining hall remained frozen in silence.
Soft classical music still drifted through the room—
but now it sounded distant.
Wrong.
Blood continued dripping slowly from the young woman’s trembling hand onto the polished marble floor beneath the glowing chandeliers.
Nobody moved.
Across the table—
the older elegant woman slowly lowered her wine glass.
Her perfectly composed expression finally began to crack.
“You shouldn’t have found those letters…”
Her voice barely escaped above a whisper.
The young woman’s eyes filled with fresh tears instantly.
“So it’s true.”
Pain spread across her face while she tightened her grip around the broken crystal stem.
The younger girl sitting nearby looked between them in confusion.
“What letters?”
No one answered.
Because sitting at the far end of the marble table—
a silver-haired man in a black tuxedo finally stood slowly from his chair.
His face had gone pale beneath the candlelight.
“You need to stop this right now.”
But the young woman turned toward him immediately.
Fury finally breaking through the heartbreak in her eyes.
“No.”
The single word echoed sharply through the dining hall.
“You let me mourn him for twelve years.”
The older woman closed her eyes.
Ashamed.
The younger girl stared in disbelief.
“Mourn who…?”
The young woman’s voice trembled violently now.
“My father.”
Silence crashed over the table.
Even the servants standing near the walls froze completely.
The silver-haired man stepped forward carefully.
“It was supposed to protect you.”
“Protect me?”
She laughed weakly through tears.
A broken sound filled with disbelief.
“You told me he abandoned us.”
Her breathing became uneven.
“But he never left.”
The older elegant woman finally broke down crying quietly into trembling hands.
Because she knew.
They all knew.
The young woman reached into her coat pocket with shaking fingers and pulled out an old faded photograph.
A younger version of her father stood smiling beside the silver-haired man now staring back at her in horror.
Brothers.
The younger girl covered her mouth softly.
“Oh my God…”
The young woman slammed the photograph onto the marble table beside the shattered crystal glass.
“He died trying to expose what this family did.”
Thunder rumbled faintly outside the mansion windows.
Rain tapped softly against the glass.
And beneath the golden chandelier light—
the illusion of perfection finally began collapsing.
The silver-haired man’s voice turned desperate.
“You don’t understand what your father discovered.”
“Then tell me.”
He said nothing.
Which terrified everyone even more.
The young woman slowly stood from her chair.
Blood still dripping from her injured hand.
But now nobody noticed the wound anymore.
Because something far worse had entered the room.
Truth.
The younger girl looked toward the older woman through tears.
“Mom… what did grandfather do?”
The older woman couldn’t answer.
Couldn’t even look at her.
Then suddenly—
the mansion lights flickered.
Once.
Twice.
The dining hall darkened beneath the chandeliers.
And from somewhere deep inside the massive estate—
a distant door slammed shut.
Every person at the table froze instantly.
The silver-haired man’s face lost all color.
“No…”
Fear entered his voice for the first time all night.
Then slowly—
footsteps echoed somewhere beyond the dining hall doors.
Heavy.
Steady.
Getting closer.
The young woman turned toward the sound while candle flames danced wildly across the shattered table.
And standing there beneath the golden light—
everyone realized something terrifying.
The betrayal hidden inside the family for twelve years…
might never have stayed buried at all.
