PART 2: The Biker Who Carried Him Through the Storm
The emergency room fell silent the moment the biker entered.
Rainwater dripped from his leather vest onto the white hospital floor while the little boy trembled weakly in his arms, fever burning through his soaked clothes.
“Help him,” the biker growled.
Nurses rushed forward immediately.
One of them carefully lifted the child’s shirt higher—
Then froze.
The bruising across the boy’s ribs had turned deep purple, spreading toward his stomach like something far worse than an accident.
“How long has he been hurt?” the nurse asked urgently.
The biker’s jaw tightened.
“I found him behind a gas station.”
The boy whimpered softly as doctors lifted him onto a stretcher.
Even half-conscious, he clung desperately to the biker’s vest.
“Don’t let him take me…” the child whispered weakly.
The words stopped everyone cold.
The biker leaned closer.
“Who?”
But before the boy could answer—
The hospital entrance doors slid open again.
A man in a dark work jacket stepped inside dripping rainwater across the floor.
His eyes locked instantly onto the child.
Then onto the biker.
And something dangerous passed across his face.
“There you are,” the man said sharply, forcing a smile. “That’s my son.”
The boy panicked immediately.
“No!” he cried, trying to pull away despite the pain. “Don’t let him touch me!”
The biker slowly stood to his full height between the stretcher and the man.
The ER suddenly felt much smaller.
The man’s fake smile faded slightly.
“You got a problem?” he asked.
The biker’s gray beard dripped rainwater as his eyes darkened beneath the fluorescent lights.
“Yeah,” he said quietly.
His scarred hand curled into a fist.
“I think I just found one.”
