PART 2: The Queen Inside the Light
The storm outside never stopped.
Rain hammered against the towering palace windows while blue magical flames continued flickering across the shattered throne room.
But the Queen was gone.
Only silver particles drifted through the air like fading starlight above the broken marble floor.
The King remained on his knees.
Motionless.
One trembling hand still stretched toward the empty space where she had been seconds earlier.
“No…” he whispered weakly.
The word barely existed.
Behind him, terrified nobles stood frozen beneath the chandeliers while royal guards slowly lowered their weapons in silence.
Nobody dared move closer.
Because the forbidden magic still lingered in the throne room.
Alive.
The blue flames suddenly bent sideways.
As if the wind itself had changed direction.
Then—
a soft voice echoed faintly through the hall.
“…Remember me.”
The King’s eyes widened instantly.
He looked up.
The drifting silver particles had stopped fading.
They were moving.
Slowly circling above the throne like a galaxy of glowing dust.
The royal mage stepped backward in fear.
“That’s impossible…”
The particles spun faster.
Blue light pulsed violently across the walls while ancient symbols ignited beneath the marble floor one by one.
The spell wasn’t ending.
It was transforming.
The King slowly rose to his feet beneath the swirling light.
“Selene…” he whispered.
Then he saw it.
Inside the storm of silver particles—
a figure.
Faint.
Transparent.
But unmistakable.
The outline of the Queen suspended within the glowing magic itself.
Her face looked toward him softly through the swirling light.
Not dead.
Trapped.
The throne room erupted into panic.
“The spell preserved her soul!”
“Shut the magic circle down!”
“It’s becoming unstable!”
But the King never looked away from her.
The Queen raised one fading hand toward him through the storm of light.
And suddenly—
every chandelier in the throne room exploded at once.
Darkness swallowed the palace.
Only the blue magical storm remained.
The royal mage fell to his knees in horror.
“Your Majesty…” he whispered shakily.
“The forbidden spell wasn’t meant to save a life.”
Lightning flashed across the windows.
And for one terrifying second—
the Queen’s glowing form opened her eyes completely inside the storm.
Bright blue.
No longer human.
“It was meant to bind one.”
