PART 2: The Widow Of Black Hollow

The brutal snowstorm continued swallowing the frozen frontier town beneath dark gray skies.

Wind screamed between the wooden buildings while blood slowly disappeared beneath fresh falling snow.

At the center of the street—

the pregnant woman remained collapsed over her husband’s lifeless body.

Trembling violently.

Her hands clutched his blood-soaked coat while hysterical sobs echoed through the storm.

“No… no please…”

Snow gathered across her long dark hair and torn winter shawl.

But the terrifying lawman standing above her showed no emotion.

Only cold silence beneath the brim of his black cowboy hat.

Behind him—

armed riders watched from horseback with rifles resting across their saddles.

One nervous gunman slowly shifted in the snow.

“Sheriff… we should leave before the storm gets worse.”

The lawman ignored him completely.

His icy eyes remained fixed on the grieving pregnant woman kneeling in the bloodstained snow.

Then slowly—

he stepped closer.

Heavy boots crunching beside the dead mountain man.

The woman instantly looked upward in terror while shielding her stomach protectively beneath both trembling hands.

The Debt That Set Them Free

“Please… I’m begging you…”

The sheriff crouched beside her calmly.

Snowflakes melted against the black leather of his gloves while freezing wind whipped around them.

Then quietly—

he grabbed something hanging beneath the dead man’s coat.

A silver chain.

Attached to it—

a worn iron pendant shaped like a wolf.

The moment the sheriff saw it—

his entire expression changed.

For the first time since arriving—

fear appeared in his eyes.

One of the riders behind him noticed immediately.

“What is it?”

The sheriff slowly stood back up while staring silently at the pendant swinging in the storm.

Snow drifted across the frozen street.

Then finally—

his voice lowered almost to a whisper.

“Black Hollow…”

The armed riders exchanged nervous looks instantly.

The Fall That Changed Everything

Even the horses became restless beneath the howling wind.

One older gunman slowly backed his horse away.

“That symbol was buried years ago…”

The sheriff’s jaw tightened.

But before he could answer—

the wounded mountain man suddenly coughed.

Blood spilled across the snow.

The pregnant woman gasped in shock.

“He’s alive!”

Her husband weakly opened his eyes beneath the storm.

Barely breathing.

The sheriff stepped backward instantly as if he had seen a ghost.

Because the man lying in the snow—

should already be dead.

The mountain man slowly lifted his blood-covered hand toward his wife’s stomach.

Then toward the sheriff.

And with his final strength—

he whispered one sentence that froze every man in town.

“The boy… belongs to Black Hollow.”

Silence crushed the street.

Even the storm seemed quieter.

The sheriff’s face turned pale beneath the falling snow.

One rider muttered nervously beneath his breath.

“Oh God…”

Then suddenly—

distant bells began ringing somewhere beyond the blizzard.

Deep.

Heavy.

Ancient.

The sheriff turned sharply toward the mountains surrounding the frontier town.

And far beyond the storm—

dark figures on horseback slowly appeared through the white snow.

Watching.

Waiting.

Coming closer.

The armed gunmen behind the sheriff immediately panicked.

“There’s too many!”

The pregnant woman stared toward the approaching silhouettes while holding her dying husband tightly against her chest.

The mountain man weakly smiled for the very last time.

Because through the storm—

his people had finally arrived.
