PART 2: The Secret Buried Beneath Blackthorn Castle

The dungeon had gone completely silent.

Dust drifted through the freezing air while terrified soldiers stared at the barefoot boy standing before the monstrous wolf-like beast.

Nobody moved.

Nobody breathed.

The creature’s glowing red eyes remained locked on the child as its massive body trembled beside him.

Moments earlier, it had torn through iron gates like paper.

Now…

it looked afraid.

The old prison keeper slowly backed away, shaking uncontrollably.

“No…” he whispered. “It remembers him.”

One of the guards lowered his crossbow nervously.

“What are you talking about?”

The prison keeper’s pale eyes never left the boy.

“Fifteen years ago… the king ordered a child sealed inside this prison.”

Thunder rumbled above the ancient castle.

The walls continued cracking apart around them.

“But why?” another soldier asked.

The old man swallowed hard.

“Because the beast refused to eat him.”

Silence crashed over the dungeon.

The Debt That Set Them Free

The soldiers stared at the child in disbelief.

The boy gently rested his hand against the creature’s scarred face.

Its growling stopped instantly.

Like a loyal animal obeying its master.

The child finally spoke for the first time.

“His name is Kael.”

The monster slowly closed its burning eyes.

One young guard stumbled backward in fear.

“You… named that thing?”

The boy looked at him calmly.

“He protected me.”

Suddenly—

BOOM.

A violent explosion shook the prison corridors above them.

Dust poured from the ceiling as distant screams echoed through the castle.

The prison keeper’s expression turned terrified.

“They found him.”

The boy slowly turned.

“Who found me?”

Before the old man could answer, armored footsteps thundered through the collapsing hallway.

The Fall That Changed Everything

Then they appeared.

Elite royal knights wearing black armor marked with the king’s silver crest.

At their center stood a tall commander holding a long execution blade.

His cold eyes locked onto the child immediately.

“There he is.”

The wolf-like beast growled violently, flames pulsing beneath its cracked black fur.

The commander raised a hand.

“Do NOT attack the creature.”

The soldiers looked confused.

“But commander—”

“That monster isn’t the danger.”

He pointed directly at the boy.

“HE is.”

The dungeon went silent again.

The barefoot child stared at the knights without fear.

The commander slowly removed an old folded paper from his coat.

A faded drawing.

A child surrounded by shadows.

And beside the drawing…

the royal seal of the dead king.

“The prophecy warned us,” the commander said darkly. “The child imprisoned beneath Blackthorn Castle would one day awaken the Beast of Ruin.”

The prison keeper fell to his knees.

“No… the king promised the bloodline ended.”

The commander’s face hardened.

“He lied.”

The boy frowned slightly.

“What bloodline?”

The commander looked directly into his eyes.

“The royal family.”

The soldiers froze.

The child standing inside the destroyed dungeon…

the child feared by monsters themselves…

was not a prisoner.

He was the lost prince of Blackthorn Castle.

And somewhere deep beneath the collapsing ruins…

something ancient had just awakened his return.
