PART 2: The Beast Remembered
The ancient temple trembled violently beneath the earth.
Stone pillars collapsed one after another while terrified monks fled through clouds of dust and falling debris.
Golden sunlight poured through widening cracks in the ceiling above.
But at the center of the chaos—
the young boy still stood motionless before the colossal creature.
The cyclopean beast stared down at him with its blazing orange eye glowing through the darkness.
No growling.
No rage.
Only recognition.
The old monk in gray robes stumbled backward across the broken stone floor.
Fear filled his ancient eyes.
“No… this cannot be happening…”
The giant creature slowly lowered its massive head closer to the child.
Close enough for hot breath and drifting ash to swirl around him.
The glowing eye narrowed gently.
Studying him.
Remembering.
Then suddenly—
a deep voice echoed through the ruins.
Not spoken aloud.
Felt inside the stone itself.
“You returned…”
The boy’s breathing stopped.
Shock spread across the surviving monks hiding behind broken pillars.
The creature knew him.
Impossible.
Dust drifted softly through the golden light while the child slowly lifted one trembling hand toward the ancient beast.
“I tried to find you…”
The cyclopean eye flickered.
And instantly—
visions exploded across the temple walls.
Ancient kingdoms burning beneath black skies.
Massive armies running in terror.
The giant creature fighting beside a much older version of the same boy thousands of years ago.
The old monk froze in horror.
“The Keeper…”
His voice barely escaped in a whisper.
The temple shook harder.
More stone crashed from the ceiling.
Then suddenly—
heavy footsteps echoed through the collapsing ruins.
Armed soldiers stormed into the temple carrying flaming torches and bronze weapons.
“The Guardian has awakened!”
Their commander pointed toward the beast.
“Kill the child!”
Panic spread instantly among the monks.
But the boy never moved.
And for the first time—
anger crossed the ancient creature’s face.
The cyclopean beast slowly rose to its full height.
Stone muscles grinding like mountains tearing apart.
The entire temple groaned beneath its weight.
One terrified soldier raised a spear.
Too late.
BOOM.
The giant creature slammed one massive fist into the ground.
A violent shockwave exploded through the ruins.
Stone cracked apart.
Torches flew from soldiers’ hands.
Warriors crashed backward through clouds of dust and rubble.
Screams echoed everywhere.
The old monk shielded his face while staring toward the child in disbelief.
“You were never chosen…”
His trembling eyes filled with realization.
“You were born for this.”
The boy looked back at the creature silently.
Confused.
Lost.
Like forgotten memories were slowly waking inside him too.
Then the ancient beast carefully lowered one gigantic hand beside him.
An invitation.
Outside—
the mountain above the temple began collapsing inward.
Sunlight burst violently through the ceiling.
Everything was falling apart.
The surviving monks ran desperately toward the exits.
But the boy slowly stepped onto the creature’s massive stone hand.
The giant lifted him gently onto its shoulder.
Protecting him.
Guarding him.
Like it had done once before long ago.
Then with an earth-shaking roar—
the colossal beast smashed through the collapsing temple wall and stepped into the outside world for the first time in centuries.
Golden sunlight exploded across its cracked stone body.
Mountains trembled beneath its footsteps.
Forests bent beneath the force of its movement.
And standing high upon the creature’s shoulder—
the young boy stared toward the endless horizon with widening eyes.
Because somewhere deep inside him—
something ancient had finally awakened too.
