The Cowboy They Shouldn’t Have Challenged
The wind carried dust between them.
The lead outlaw forced a grin.
“You’re alone.”
The cowboy never looked away.
“I only need to be enough.”
The frightened woman whispered,
“Please… don’t let them take me.”
One outlaw reached for his revolver.
Before he could draw it, the cowboy unfastened the silver marshal’s badge beneath his black coat.
The outlaws froze.
“A U.S. Marshal…”
The townspeople gasped.
The cowboy’s voice remained calm.
“You have one chance.”
“Release her.”
The men slowly let go of the woman and stepped back.
She hurried behind the marshal, tears filling her eyes.
The leader lowered his weapon.
“We didn’t know who you were.”
The marshal tipped his hat.
“You should’ve cared who she was.”
And in the silence of the frontier—
three armed outlaws discovered too late…
that courage carries more authority than fear.
