The Photo on the Table

The biker quietly picked up his fork.

His breakfast had gone cold.

He didn’t seem to mind.

Then—

the little boy ran back across the diner.

“Wait!”

The biker looked up.

The child held out a small photograph.

“My mom says this is for you.”

Confused, the biker took it.

His hands froze.

The picture showed a younger version of himself helping a frightened little boy after a motorcycle rally years ago.

The woman smiled through tears.

“You rescued my little brother.”

“You never knew it was me who thanked you.”

The biker looked from the photo to the smiling family.

A tear slipped down his cheek.

The little boy hugged him tightly.

“You help everybody, don’t you?”

The biker smiled.

The Debt That Set Them Free

“I just help people find their way home.”

And for the first time that morning—

his breakfast wasn’t the warmest thing in the diner.
