The Maid Revealed a Truth That Stopped the Wedding
The ballroom fell silent.
No one dared to move.
The shattered champagne glass glittered across the marble floor as hundreds of guests stared at the maid.
The groom looked at the phone in disbelief.
“Play it again.”
His voice trembled.
The maid nodded and replayed the video.
This time everyone saw it clearly.
A man entered the private reception room.
He looked around carefully.
Then he removed a small bottle from his pocket and poured a clear liquid into the groom’s champagne.
Gasps spread through the ballroom.
The bride covered her mouth.
The groom’s hands began shaking.
“Who is that?” someone whispered.
The video zoomed in.
The room froze.
The person in the footage wasn’t a stranger.
It was a member of the wedding party.
The groom’s uncle.
The man who had helped raise him after his father’s death.
“No…” the groom whispered.
His uncle stepped backward.
His face turned white.
“You don’t understand.”
Security immediately moved toward him.
“Wait!” the uncle shouted.
“You have to listen to me!”
The guests watched in stunned silence.
The groom stared at him.
“Why would you do this?”
Tears suddenly appeared in the uncle’s eyes.
“Because if you drank that champagne, you would’ve signed the marriage certificate tonight.”
The room fell silent again.
The bride looked confused.
“What does that have to do with anything?”
The uncle reached into his jacket and removed a sealed envelope.
“I prayed this day would never come.”
The groom slowly took it.
His hands trembled as he opened it.
Inside was a letter.
A letter written by his late father.
The date on the paper was twenty-three years old.
The groom’s heart stopped.
“Dad’s handwriting…” he whispered.
Several guests began crying.
The uncle lowered his head.
“Your father gave me that letter before he died.”
The groom unfolded the page.
As he read the first few lines, the color drained from his face.
The bride noticed immediately.
“What is it?”
The groom couldn’t answer.
He simply handed her the letter.
She read it.
Then she froze.
The ballroom waited.
Neither of them spoke.
Finally, the bride looked up.
Tears filled her eyes.
“This can’t be true.”
The guests exchanged nervous glances.
“What does it say?” someone asked.
The groom swallowed hard.
According to the letter, his father had discovered a secret before his death.
A secret he feared would destroy two families.
The groom’s voice cracked.
“My father believed there was a possibility that Emily and I were related.”
The ballroom erupted.
The bride staggered backward.
“No…”
The uncle closed his eyes.
“For years I searched for proof.”
The guests were speechless.
“I couldn’t find anything until last week.”
The groom looked at him.
“And?”
The uncle pulled another document from the envelope.
A DNA report.
His hands trembled.
The ballroom was completely silent.
“Open it,” the uncle said.
The groom stared at the report.
The bride gripped his arm.
Neither of them was prepared for what they might learn.
Slowly, he unfolded the final page.
His eyes widened.
The report revealed a truth neither family had ever expected.
And it changed the wedding forever.
