The Little Brother Who Refused to Give Up

The boy stared at the doctor in disbelief.

“Really?” he whispered.

The doctor nodded.

“Your sister’s medicine is already paid for.”

Tears filled the boy’s eyes.

He looked down at the small pile of coins scattered across the floor.

“I thought I needed more,” he said quietly.

The doctor gently picked up one of the coins.

“You brought everything you had.”

The boy nodded.

“I sold my toys for her.”

For a moment, the doctor couldn’t speak.

Then a nurse appeared from the hallway.

“Your sister is awake.”

The boy jumped to his feet.

“Can I see her?”

The nurse smiled.

“She’s asking for her big brother.”

The child grabbed his backpack and hurried down the corridor.

The doctor watched him go, glancing once more at the coins on the floor.

The Debt That Set Them Free

They weren’t enough to buy the medicine.

But they proved something far more important—

love had brought him there, and that was worth more than money.
