The Princess the Ocean Refused to Claim

The storm turned violent.

Wilder.

Hungrier.

Rain crashed sideways across the cliffs as waves exploded against jagged black stone far below.

And above the sea—

the princess hovered.

Changed.

Unrecognizable.

Blue energy spiraled around her like living storms while the colossal dragon coiled through thunderclouds behind her.

Its glowing eyes burned across the coastline.

Ancient.

Protective.

Awake.

The king stumbled backward.

Rain pouring through his silver beard.

“No…” he whispered.

Fear replacing certainty.

“That power died centuries ago.”

Lightning erupted overhead.

The princess slowly lowered toward the cliff.

The Debt That Set Them Free

Bare feet touching soaked stone.

Water moved unnaturally around her.

Rising.

Breathing.

Listening.

Her once-simple white dress shimmered beneath glowing currents of blue and silver light.

The golden crown above her head pulsed softly.

Alive.

Watching.

The soldiers stepped back.

Torches trembling in shaking hands.

One dropped his spear entirely.

“The Sea Blood…” he whispered.

“She’s one of them.”

The dragon growled.

Deep.

Thunderous.

The sound shook banners loose from their poles.

The princess lifted her eyes toward the old king.

Pain flickered first.

The Fall That Changed Everything

Then betrayal.

Then something colder.

Stronger.

“You threw me away.”

Rain streamed across her face.

But now—

she looked nothing like prey.

The king straightened slowly.

Trying to recover his authority.

Trying to hide fear beneath pride.

“You were cursed!”

His voice cracked against thunder.

“You would’ve destroyed the kingdom!”

The ocean suddenly roared louder.

Massive waves climbing impossibly high below the cliffs.

The dragon lowered its enormous head beside her.

Waiting.

Ready.

The princess stepped forward once.

Blue light burst beneath her feet.

“No.”

Her voice echoed unnaturally.

Like the ocean itself spoke with her.

“You feared what I was.”

Lightning struck the sea.

The cliff trembled.

Then—

from beneath the raging water—

shapes began rising.

Dozens of them.

Massive.

Ancient.

Sea serpents.

Glowing eyes breaking through black waves.

The soldiers panicked instantly.

Some dropped to their knees.

Others ran.

“No—!” the king shouted.

“Hold your ground!”

But nobody listened.

Because the sea had come alive.

The princess raised one glowing hand.

Wind spiraled violently around her.

The dragon spread its enormous wings.

Thunder rolled.

Then quietly—

coldly—

without mercy—

she spoke.

“You offered me to the ocean.”

Her glowing eyes fixed on the king.

“Now the ocean answers.”

The sea rose.

Higher.

Higher.

Until a towering wall of water stood behind her—

large enough to swallow the kingdom whole.
