PART 2: The Warrior Who Returned To Reclaim His Kingdom
The thunderous roar of thousands of soldiers shook the desert itself.
“ALLAHU AKBAR!”
Green flags whipped violently through the burning wind as armored warriors raised their swords toward the sky. Dust rolled across the battlefield in massive waves beneath pounding war drums and stomping boots.
But the warrior on the black horse remained silent.
Still.
Watching the fortress.
Its towering sandstone walls stood scarred by years of war, yet the banners flying above them still carried the mark of the enemy king who had stolen the throne long ago.
The warrior’s eyes narrowed beneath the shadow of his hood.
Memories returned like blades.
Fire consuming palace halls.
Screaming civilians running through smoke.
His father collapsing beneath enemy steel.
And a child forced to flee into the desert while his kingdom burned behind him.
That child was now the man riding toward the fortress.
A commander slowly approached from behind on horseback.
Commander: “My Sultan… the men await your order.”
The warrior said nothing at first.
The desert wind tugged against his green cloak while distant horns echoed from inside the fortress walls.
The enemy was preparing.
Archers lined the battlements.
Boiling oil was carried toward defensive towers.
Massive wooden gates sealed shut with iron chains.
They knew who had returned.
Finally, the warrior spoke quietly.
Warrior: “How many remain inside?”
Commander: “Nearly twenty thousand soldiers.”
Another pause.
Then—
Commander (carefully): “And the king.”
The warrior slowly tightened his grip around the leather reins.
For years, he had crossed deserts, united tribes, survived betrayal, and built an army strong enough to reclaim what was stolen.
Everything had led to this moment.
High above the fortress walls, a loud horn suddenly blasted through the desert air.
The massive gates creaked open slightly.
A lone rider emerged carrying a white banner.
The cheering soldiers gradually fell silent again as the messenger approached through the dust.
The messenger stopped several feet away and bowed nervously from his horse.
Messenger: “A message from King Farid.”
At the mention of the king’s name, tension spread instantly across the battlefield.
The messenger unrolled a scroll with trembling hands.
Messenger (loudly): “The king offers gold, land, and peace… if the desert prince kneels and leaves these lands forever.”
Murmurs spread through the army.
Some soldiers spat into the sand.
Others tightened their swords angrily.
But the warrior simply stared toward the fortress walls in silence.
Then slowly—
He guided his horse forward.
One step.
Then another.
Until he stood directly before the messenger.
The desert wind howled violently around them.
Warrior (calmly): “Tell your king…”
He removed one leather glove slowly, revealing a deep scar burned across his hand.
A scar from the night his kingdom fell.
Warrior: “I did not return for gold.”
The messenger’s breathing became uneven.
The warrior lifted his eyes toward the fortress towering against the blazing sky.
Warrior: “I returned for justice.”
Suddenly—
THOOM!
A flaming projectile exploded against the desert behind them.
The enemy had fired first.
Chaos erupted instantly.
War drums thundered.
Horses screamed.
Thousands of soldiers raised shields as arrows darkened the sky like a deadly storm.
The messenger fled in terror back toward the fortress while the warrior remained unmoving amid the chaos.
Then slowly—
He pulled a curved sword from his side.
Steel flashed beneath the burning sunlight.
The entire battlefield fell into breathless silence for one final second.
The warrior raised the blade toward the fortress.
Warrior (shouting): “FOR THE KINGDOM!”
An earth-shaking roar exploded from the army as thousands of soldiers charged forward through the swirling dust toward the ancient fortress walls.
And at the front of the storm—
The silent warrior rode straight toward the kingdom that once belonged to him.
