PART 2: The Woman They Mocked Was a Forgotten Legend
The shooting range stood frozen.
Dust still drifted through the air.
Five shattered targets lay scattered downrange—
metal bent.
Wood splintered.
Smoke hanging faintly beneath the pale sky.
Nobody spoke.
The same young soldiers who had laughed moments ago now stared in complete silence.
Phones stayed lowered.
No one even thought about recording anymore.
The young soldier who had mocked her swallowed hard.
His grin was gone.
“That… that’s impossible.”
A senior officer stepped forward slowly.
Eyes locked on the destroyed targets.
His jaw tightened.
Because he recognized something—
something nobody else understood.
That pattern.
Those shots.
Too clean.
Too fast.
Too perfect.
He turned sharply.
“Stop her.”
The words cut through the silence.
Two soldiers immediately rushed after the elderly woman as she walked calmly toward the edge of the range.
No hurry.
No fear.
Just steady footsteps against the sand.
“Ma’am!” one shouted.
She stopped.
Slowly turned.
The desert wind brushed loose strands of grey hair across her face.
The dragon tattoo shifted along her arm.
“You can’t just leave,” the soldier said, breathing hard. “Who are you?”
The woman looked at him for a moment.
Quiet.
Unreadable.
Then—
she reached into her pocket.
Pulled out something old.
Worn.
Metal.
A military identification tag.
The younger soldier frowned.
But the senior officer—
the moment he saw it—
his expression changed.
Color drained from his face.
“No…”
His voice barely came out.
The soldiers looked confused.
“Sir?”
The officer stepped closer.
Hands trembling slightly.
He stared at the name engraved on the tag like he had seen a ghost.
Then quietly—
almost afraid—
he said,
“You’re supposed to be dead.”
Silence.
Wind swept harder across the range.
The woman looked toward the endless desert.
A faint smile touched her face again.
“People believed that,” she said softly.
The officer swallowed.
Twenty-five years ago—
there had been rumors.
Stories soldiers whispered during training.
A ghost sniper.
A woman no enemy ever saw twice.
Someone who disappeared after a classified mission went horribly wrong.
No body recovered.
No answers.
Only one name remained buried inside military files.
A name most thought was fiction.
The officer looked at her again.
This time with fear.
Not respect.
Fear.
“You’re… The Dragon of Kharan.”
The younger soldiers exchanged nervous glances.
The name meant nothing to them.
But the officer looked shaken.
Because legends weren’t supposed to walk back into the sunlight.
The old woman adjusted the rifle strap over her shoulder.
Her eyes turned distant for a second.
Like she was remembering something painful.
Then she looked back at the officer.
“You should stop digging into old graves,” she said quietly.
She turned again.
Started walking.
But before anyone could speak—
a black military SUV suddenly appeared beyond the dunes.
Fast.
Too fast.
Dust exploded behind it.
No markings.
Dark windows.
The officer’s face changed instantly.
Panic.
“No…” he whispered.
The vehicle stopped hard near the range.
Doors opened.
Armed men stepped out.
Not soldiers.
Not military police.
Something else.
One of them removed dark sunglasses.
Looked directly at the old woman.
Then smiled.
“Well,” he said,
“Looks like we finally found her.”
