PART 2: Victor Ashford Sees the Impossible Move Beneath the Water

“WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?”

Victor Ashford’s voice cracked through the courtyard like thunder itself.

Servants immediately stepped back in panic as the billionaire stormed beneath the marble arches, fury burning across his face. Rain echoed through the open courtyard while security guards rushed behind him.

The homeless boy flinched hard but stayed kneeling beside Emily’s tub.

Victor pointed instantly.

“Get that boy away from my daughter!”

Two guards moved forward—

Then stopped.

Because Emily was crying.

Not frightened.

Overwhelmed.

Her trembling hands gripped the sides of the tub as she stared down into the water.

“Dad…” she whispered shakily. “I felt it.”

Victor froze.

The courtyard fell silent except for rain striking stone.

Emily slowly looked up at him, tears spilling down her cheeks.

“My foot moved.”

Nobody breathed.

One of the servants covered her mouth.

The doctor standing near the archway went pale.

The Debt That Set Them Free

Victor’s expression hardened instantly—not disbelief, but fear. The kind of fear wealthy men feel when something happens that money cannot explain.

“That’s impossible,” he said sharply.

But the boy beside the tub shook his head slowly.

“I saw it.”

Victor turned toward him with cold fury.

“You stay out of this.”

The boy lowered his eyes immediately, soaked clothes clinging to his thin frame.

Yet Emily suddenly reached out and grabbed his sleeve before anyone could pull him away.

“Don’t make him leave.”

The words stunned the courtyard more than the miracle itself.

Because Emily Ashford hadn’t willingly touched another person in months.

Victor stared at his daughter in silence.

Then his eyes drifted downward.

Back into the water.

Back to her legs.

And for one impossible second—

Her toe moved again.

A tiny twitch beneath the rippling warm water.

The doctor stepped forward so fast he nearly slipped across the wet marble.

“Oh my God…”

The Fall That Changed Everything

Victor’s face drained of color.

The homeless boy looked terrified now, like he never expected kindness to actually work.

Then Emily whispered something so quietly only the people nearest heard it.

“When he touched my feet… it stopped hurting.”

Thunder shook the mansion windows violently.

And somewhere deep inside Ashford Mansion, for the first time in years—

Hope entered the house uninvited.
