PART 2: The Hidden Door Beneath Vale Tower

The shopping center had gone completely silent.

Cameras stopped flashing.

Even the violin music from the private ballroom faded into the background as billionaire Adrian Vale stared at the silver key in Eli’s trembling hands.

His face had turned pale.

Not fear.

Recognition.

Adrian slowly stepped closer while security exchanged nervous glances around him.

“Where did you get that key?” he asked quietly.

Eli tightened his grip around the old silver metal.

“My mom kept it hidden,” he said. “She told me if anything ever happened to her… I had to find you.”

A whisper spread through the crowd.

Adrian Vale — the man who owned half the city — suddenly looked like someone carrying a ghost on his shoulders.

One of the assistants leaned closer.

“Sir… the press is watching.”

Adrian ignored him.

His eyes never left the key.

Because he knew exactly what it opened.

And he also knew…

it was never supposed to be found again.

Without another word, Adrian removed his expensive black coat and wrapped it around Eli’s shoulders.

The Debt That Set Them Free

“Cancel the event,” he ordered.

The crowd gasped.

“But sir, investors flew in from—”

“NOW.”

His voice thundered across the marble hall.

Within seconds, staff began shutting down lights while reporters shouted questions from behind security barriers.

Adrian guided Eli toward the private elevators at the end of the corridor.

The boy looked up nervously.

“Did you know my dad?”

Adrian pressed the elevator button.

For a moment, he said nothing.

Then finally—

“He saved my life once.”

The elevator doors opened.

Inside waited two armed bodyguards.

Adrian looked at them coldly.

“No phones. No calls. Nobody follows us.”

The doors closed.

As the elevator descended underground, Eli noticed Adrian’s hands slightly shaking.

“Mom said my father disappeared,” Eli whispered.

The Fall That Changed Everything

Adrian let out a slow breath.

“No, Eli.”

The billionaire stared at the glowing floor numbers dropping lower and lower beneath the city.

“Your father didn’t disappear.”

The elevator stopped.

The doors slid open to a dark underground parking level Eli had never seen before.

Concrete walls.

No cameras.

No signs.

Only silence.

At the far end stood a giant steel door covered in dust.

And in the center of the door…

a small silver keyhole.

Eli’s heartbeat quickened.

Adrian looked at the boy carefully.

“Fifteen years ago,” he said softly, “your father locked something inside this room.”

“Something dangerous?”

Adrian’s eyes darkened.

“No.”

He paused.

“Someone dangerous.”

The lights above suddenly flickered.

One of the bodyguards touched his earpiece nervously.

“Sir… we may have a problem.”

Adrian turned.

“What is it?”

The guard swallowed hard.

“The black SUVs outside…”

He hesitated.

“They don’t belong to us.”

Silence.

Then—

A loud metallic BANG echoed through the underground garage.

Another hit followed.

Someone was trying to break in.

Eli stepped backward in fear while Adrian instantly pulled him behind him.

The billionaire’s calm expression vanished completely.

Because there was only one group powerful enough to track the silver key after all these years.

And if they had finally found Eli…

then the secret buried beneath Vale Tower was never truly dead.
