PART 2: The Name Hidden in the Darkness
The courtroom exploded into panic.
People gasped as darkness swallowed the room completely.
Chairs scraped across the floor.
Someone screamed near the back benches.
Then—
a loud crash echoed through the silence.
“Protect the witness!” a bailiff shouted.
The little boy’s breathing shook somewhere in the dark while the maid cried helplessly beside the witness stand.
“Eli!” she screamed. “Stay where you are!”
Emergency lights suddenly flickered on in deep red flashes, covering the courtroom in an eerie glow.
And instantly—
everyone noticed something terrifying.
The older man in the expensive suit was gone.
The judge stood up slowly, shock spreading across his face.
“Seal the exits,” he ordered immediately.
Officers rushed toward the courtroom doors while the little boy clung tightly to the maid’s arm, trembling violently now.
The maid dropped to her knees beside him.
“You shouldn’t have spoken,” she whispered through tears.
But the child shook his head.
“He would’ve blamed you forever,” he cried softly.
The entire gallery watched in stunned silence.
Then one officer near the back suddenly shouted:
“Judge… you need to see this.”
People turned instantly.
A leather briefcase had been left open beside the empty seat where the wealthy man had been sitting moments earlier.
Inside were stacks of hidden documents.
Bank transfers.
Fake signatures.
And photographs proving the maid had been threatened for months to stay silent.
The courtroom slowly realized the truth.
She was never the criminal.
She was the only witness.
The little boy wiped tears from his face and pointed toward the empty doorway.
“He hurt people,” he whispered. “And she protected me when I saw it.”
The maid lowered her head, completely broken now.
Because the secret she tried so desperately to hide had finally come into the light.
And somewhere beyond the courtroom walls…
the real guilty man was running.
