PART 2: The Vault Opened and Revealed a Terrible Secret

The auditorium fell into absolute silence.

Nobody laughed anymore.

The giant steel vault groaned beneath the bright white spotlights as the crack across its surface widened inch by inch.

Dust drifted through the air.

Somewhere deep inside the vault, old locking mechanisms clicked loudly one after another.

The host’s confident smile disappeared completely.

“What did you do?” he whispered.

The young boy kept his hand calmly against the freezing metal.

“I told you,” he said softly. “It remembers me.”

A final metallic THUD echoed through the auditorium.

Then the vault door slowly creaked open.

Blinding white light spilled across the stage.

People shielded their eyes.

Security guards rushed forward nervously while the audience watched in breathless silence.

Inside the vault sat only one object.

A small black chair.

Bolted to the floor.

The boy’s expression changed the moment he saw it.

Pain crossed his face.
Recognition.

And fear.

The Debt That Set Them Free

The audience exchanged confused whispers.

“That’s it?”
“There’s nothing inside.”

But the boy already knew better.

Because he remembered the chair.

He remembered the straps attached to its arms.

And the voices speaking around him years earlier.

The host stepped backward slowly. “This isn’t possible…”

The boy finally looked at him.

“You said nobody could open it.”

The man’s hands trembled slightly now.

“Because nobody else survived.”

The room instantly went still.

Several audience members gasped.

Cameras continued rolling, broadcasting every second live across the giant screens overhead.

The boy stared back inside the vault.

More memories surfaced now.

Cold lights.
Doctors wearing masks.
A loud alarm.

And one sentence repeated over and over again:

Subject Seven retains memory.

His breathing became uneven.

The Fall That Changed Everything

“You kept children in there,” he whispered.

The host’s face drained of color.

Security guards near the stage suddenly looked uncertain.

One of them slowly lowered his weapon.

The audience no longer looked entertained.

They looked horrified.

The boy stepped toward the open vault carefully.

Hidden behind the chair was a small metal drawer.

He reached inside slowly.

And pulled out a faded photograph.

The moment he saw it…

his entire body froze.

Seven children stood inside the picture wearing identical gray uniforms.

And standing beside them…

was the host.

Younger.
Smiling.

The audience erupted into shocked murmurs.

But the boy barely heard them anymore.

Because one child in the photograph held his hand tightly.

A little girl.

The same girl from the dreams he could never fully remember.

On the back of the photo, three words were written in red ink:

ONLY ONE ESCAPED.

The host suddenly shouted toward security.

“Take him off the stage!”

But nobody moved.

Because at that exact moment…

the auditorium lights flickered violently.

And deep inside the vault…

something else started beeping.
