PART 2: The Past That Refused to Stay Gone

The biker didn’t move at first.

His eyes stayed locked on the man.

Cold. Sharp. Unblinking.

“What’s your name?” he asked the girl quietly.

“Lily,” she said.

He nodded once. “Stay behind me, Lily.”

She didn’t hesitate. She stepped closer, gripping his jacket tightly.

The man forced a smile, but it didn’t reach his eyes. “She’s confused,” he said. “Kids make things up.”

“Do they?” the biker replied calmly.

There was something different in his voice now.

Something final.

“Come on,” the man said, reaching for her arm.

That was his mistake.

The biker moved instantly, catching his wrist mid-air and stopping him without effort.

“I said don’t move,” he repeated.

People nearby began to notice. Conversations slowed. Chairs turned. The noise of the restaurant softened into something watchful.

Lily’s voice trembled behind him. “He said my mom isn’t coming back…”

The biker’s jaw tightened. “What did your mom tell you?”

She swallowed hard. “She said if I ever got scared… to find the wolf… and give him this.”

She reached into her pocket and pulled out a folded note, edges worn from being held too many times.

The Debt That Set Them Free

He took it carefully, his fingers no longer steady.

As he opened it, everything else faded.

If you’re reading this… I didn’t make it back. I was afraid to tell you about her. Her name is Lily. She’s yours. Don’t trust anyone who comes for her.

His breath caught.

For a moment, he didn’t move at all.

Then slowly, he looked up.

Different now.

Not just angry.

Certain.

The man’s expression cracked. “Give me that,” he demanded, stepping forward.

The biker stepped in front of Lily completely.

“No.”

There was no hesitation left.

The man tried to pull away, panic rising. “You don’t understand what this is—”

“Then explain it,” the biker said.

No answer came.

Because there wasn’t one that would change what was already happening.

Security began moving through the crowd, alerted by the tension, but they were too late to control it.

The moment had already shifted.

The biker released the man only when staff grabbed hold of him.

The Fall That Changed Everything

Then he turned back to Lily.

Everything in him softened again.

“Hey,” he said gently. “You’re okay.”

Her eyes filled with tears. “Is my mom really gone?”

He paused.

Just for a second.

Then answered honestly. “I don’t know. But we’re going to find out.”

She stepped forward and hugged him tightly, like she had been holding that moment inside for too long.

This time, he didn’t hesitate.

He held her back.

Carefully.

Like something he almost lost before he even knew it existed.

Around them, the restaurant slowly came back to life, but nothing felt the same anymore.

Because something bigger had already begun.

He looked down at the note in his hand, then at Lily holding onto him.

The past wasn’t buried.

It had been waiting.

And now—it had found him again.

“Stay with me,” he said quietly.

She nodded.

And for the first time—

He wasn’t facing it alone.
