PART 2: The Name That Refused to Stay Buried

“Hold on,” he said quietly.

For the first time, he wasn’t running from the past. He was going straight toward it.

The man beside them shifted uneasily, forcing a tight smile. “She’s confused,” he said quickly. “Come on, we’re leaving.”

The biker didn’t move.

His eyes stayed locked on him.

“Step back,” he said, voice low but steady.

The man hesitated, then tried to laugh it off. “You’re making a mistake.”

“Yeah,” the biker replied calmly. “But not the one you think.”

Lily’s fingers tightened around his sleeve, her small body pressing closer behind him.

He could feel her fear.

And he wasn’t ignoring it.

“What did your mom tell you?” he asked gently, without looking away from the man.

“That if I ever got scared… to find the wolf,” she whispered. “And give him this.”

She reached into her pocket and pulled out a folded note, worn from being held too many times.

He took it carefully, his hands no longer steady.

As he opened it, everything around him seemed to disappear.

If you’re reading this… I didn’t make it back. I never told you about her because I was afraid. Her name is Lily. She’s yours. Don’t trust anyone who comes for her.

His breath caught.

The words hit harder than anything else could have.

“She’s…” he started, but the sentence never finished.

The Debt That Set Them Free

It didn’t need to.

The truth was already there.

The man’s expression changed. “Give me that,” he said sharply, stepping forward.

The biker moved faster.

One step.

That was all it took to block him completely.

“No,” he said.

This time, there was no calm in it.

Only certainty.

The man’s patience snapped. He grabbed for Lily.

That was his second mistake.

The biker caught his arm mid-motion and twisted just enough to stop him without causing chaos—but enough to make it clear this wasn’t going any further.

“Don’t,” he warned.

People were staring now.

Phones lowering.

Voices quieting.

The situation had shifted.

The man tried to pull away, panic creeping in. “You don’t understand what this is,” he said under his breath.

“Then explain it,” the biker replied.

No answer came.

The Fall That Changed Everything

Because there wasn’t one that would save him.

Security whistles echoed across the platform as officers began pushing through the crowd.

Too late.

The truth had already surfaced.

The biker released him only when security grabbed hold.

Then he turned back to Lily.

Everything about him changed again.

His voice softened.

“Hey,” he said. “You’re okay.”

Her eyes filled with tears. “Is my mom really gone?”

He paused, just for a second.

Then answered honestly.

“I don’t know,” he said. “But we’re going to find out.”

She stepped forward and hugged him tightly, like she had been waiting for that moment longer than she understood.

This time, he didn’t hesitate.

He held her back.

Carefully.

Like something he almost lost without ever knowing he had it.

Around them, the platform returned to life—announcements resuming, footsteps rushing, voices rising—but none of it touched them anymore.

Because something bigger had already begun.

He looked down at the note in his hand, then at Lily holding onto him, then toward the tracks stretching into the distance.

The past wasn’t gone.

It had been waiting.

And now—it had found him again.

“Stay with me,” he said quietly.

She nodded.

And together, they stepped forward—not away from the truth, but straight into it.
