The little girl hugged the grocery bags.<\/p>\n

Watching the biker disappear down the road.<\/p>\n

She thought she would never see him again.<\/p>\n

the store clerk called out.<\/p>\n

\u201cSweetheart\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou forgot something.\u201d<\/p>\n

He handed her a folded receipt.<\/p>\n

Tucked inside was a handwritten note.<\/p>\n

In careful block letters, it read:<\/p>\n

“Take care of your mom.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Someone once did the same for mine.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

The little girl pressed the note against her chest.<\/p>\n

And smiled through her tears.<\/p>\n

Years passed.<\/p>\n

She never threw the note away.<\/p>\n

Then she handed the old biker a folded receipt.<\/p>\n

His hands froze.<\/p>\n

Written on the back were the same words he had written years before.<\/p>\n

“Take care of yourself.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Someone once did the same for my mom.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

The biker looked at the woman.<\/p>\n

His eyes filled with tears.<\/p>\n
