The little girl hugged the gray-bearded biker as tightly as she could.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you,\u201d she whispered.<\/p>\n

But the old rider wasn’t finished.<\/p>\n

He glanced toward the tired woman sitting on the porch and saw the shame in her eyes.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don’t owe me anything, ma’am,\u201d he said gently.<\/p>\n

The mother covered her mouth, tears spilling down her cheeks.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don’t know how to thank you,\u201d she sobbed.<\/p>\n

Mr. Gunter smiled softly.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy staying strong for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

The little girl held onto her pink bicycle and looked up hopefully.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo\u2026 I get to keep Daisy?\u201d<\/p>\n

The biker chuckled.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course you do.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cA bicycle belongs under a kid, not in a yard sale.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then he reached into his saddlebag and pulled out a business card.<\/p>\n

\u201cKnow what?\u201d he said with a grin.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat chain’s rusty. Bring Daisy by my garage Saturday. We’ll make her shine again.\u201d<\/p>\n

The girl’s eyes widened.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cReally.\u201d<\/p>\n

But before anyone could say another word, the distant rumble of motorcycles echoed down the street.<\/p>\n

One by one, half a dozen bikers rolled into the neighborhood.<\/p>\n

The mother stared in surprise.<\/p>\n

The little girl gasped.<\/p>\n

Boxes of groceries.<\/p>\n

Blankets.<\/p>\n

School supplies.<\/p>\n

Even dog food for the family’s old Labrador.<\/p>\n

The gray-bearded biker scratched his beard sheepishly.<\/p>\n

\u201cI may have made a couple phone calls.\u201d<\/p>\n

The other riders smiled.<\/p>\n

\u201cFamily helps family,\u201d one of them said.<\/p>\n

By sunset, the porch that had once held only worry and hunger was filled with laughter.<\/p>\n

And as the little girl rode circles around the yard on her pink bicycle, she looked at the big biker and smiled.<\/p>\n

\u201cMommy\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

She pointed toward him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think angels ride motorcycles.\u201d<\/p>\n

The old biker laughed through misty eyes.<\/p>\n

And beneath the fading evening sky, he realized something beautiful:<\/p>\n

Sometimes the greatest roads don’t lead to places.<\/p>\n
