The little girl refused to let go.<\/p>\n

Her arms remained wrapped tightly around her father.<\/p>\n

Afraid.<\/p>\n

Relieved.<\/p>\n

Overwhelmed.<\/p>\n

The biker slowly sat up.<\/p>\n

Pain shot through his shoulder.<\/p>\n

His motorcycle lay twisted nearby.<\/p>\n

Dust still hung in the evening air.<\/p>\n

The little girl wiped tears from her face.<\/p>\n

“You scared me, Daddy.”<\/p>\n

The biker’s heart broke.<\/p>\n

He gently brushed her hair aside.<\/p>\n

“I’m sorry, princess.”<\/p>\n

For a moment\u2014<\/p>\n

neither spoke.<\/p>\n

They simply held onto each other.<\/p>\n

Then\u2014<\/p>\n

the distant sound of sirens echoed across the fields.<\/p>\n

Someone had called for help.<\/p>\n

Red and blue lights soon appeared on the horizon.<\/p>\n

Growing closer.<\/p>\n

The little girl pointed toward them.<\/p>\n

“They’re coming!”<\/p>\n

The biker smiled weakly.<\/p>\n

But before the ambulance arrived\u2014<\/p>\n

something caught his attention.<\/p>\n

The little girl’s backpack.<\/p>\n

Lying open in the grass.<\/p>\n

Several papers had spilled onto the ground.<\/p>\n

Drawings.<\/p>\n

Colorful crayon pictures.<\/p>\n

The biker reached for one.<\/p>\n

His hands trembled.<\/p>\n

At the top of the page\u2014<\/p>\n

written in uneven childlike handwriting\u2014<\/p>\n

were the words:<\/p>\n

“Things I Love Most.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

The little girl immediately blushed.<\/p>\n

“Daddy…”<\/p>\n

The biker looked down.<\/p>\n

A drawing of a motorcycle.<\/p>\n

A drawing of their small house.<\/p>\n

A drawing of herself.<\/p>\n

And right in the center\u2014<\/p>\n

a giant picture of him.<\/p>\n

Smiling.<\/p>\n

Holding her hand.<\/p>\n

The biker felt tears filling his eyes again.<\/p>\n

Below the drawing\u2014<\/p>\n

one sentence was written.<\/p>\n

Simple.<\/p>\n

Honest.<\/p>\n

Powerful.<\/p>\n

“My daddy always saves me.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

The biker couldn’t speak.<\/p>\n

His throat tightened.<\/p>\n

The little girl looked down nervously.<\/p>\n

“I made it at school.”<\/p>\n

The biker pulled her into another hug.<\/p>\n

Stronger this time.<\/p>\n

Longer.<\/p>\n

As ambulance lights illuminated the roadside\u2014<\/p>\n

he whispered softly into her hair.<\/p>\n

“Today…”<\/p>\n

His voice cracked.<\/p>\n

“…you saved me.”<\/p>\n

The little girl smiled through her tears.<\/p>\n

And as the first stars appeared above the countryside\u2014<\/p>\n

everyone arriving at the accident scene could see it.<\/p>\n

The motorcycle had crashed.<\/p>\n
