She didn\u2019t move away from him\u2014but she also didn\u2019t fully trust the ground beneath her yet.<\/p>\n<p>The cowboy stayed close.<\/p>\n<p>Not touching anymore.<\/p>\n<p>Just\u2026 present.<\/p>\n<p>Behind them, the captors counted the gold pouch again, as if double-checking reality.<\/p>\n<p>The crowd started to scatter.
