The garage remained quiet.<\/p>\n

Golden sunlight poured through the open doors.<\/p>\n

The biker continued holding the letter.<\/p>\n

Reading the words again.<\/p>\n

And again.<\/p>\n

“Thank you for choosing me.”<\/em><\/p>\n

His eyes filled with fresh tears.<\/p>\n

The little girl shifted nervously.<\/p>\n

Unsure why he was so emotional.<\/p>\n

Then she quietly asked\u2014<\/p>\n

“Did I spell everything right?”<\/p>\n

The biker laughed through his tears.<\/p>\n

A genuine laugh.<\/p>\n

The kind that comes straight from the heart.<\/p>\n

“You spelled the important part perfectly.”<\/p>\n

The little girl smiled.<\/p>\n

Relieved.<\/p>\n

Nearby, a few bikers looked over from their workstations.<\/p>\n

Curious.<\/p>\n

The bearded biker carefully folded the letter.<\/p>\n

Then slipped it into the inside pocket of his leather vest.<\/p>\n

Right over his heart.<\/p>\n

The little girl noticed.<\/p>\n

Her eyes widened.<\/p>\n

“You kept it?”<\/p>\n

The biker looked at her.<\/p>\n

Almost shocked by the question.<\/p>\n

“Sweetheart…”<\/p>\n

His voice cracked slightly.<\/p>\n

“…I’m keeping this forever.”<\/p>\n

The little girl beamed.<\/p>\n

Then looked down at her shoes.<\/p>\n

A little embarrassed.<\/p>\n

“There was something else on the back.”<\/p>\n

The biker blinked.<\/p>\n

“What?”<\/p>\n

She pointed toward the letter.<\/p>\n

Slowly\u2014<\/p>\n

he unfolded it again.<\/p>\n

Turning it over.<\/p>\n

And froze.<\/p>\n

On the back was a crayon drawing.<\/p>\n

A small girl holding hands with a giant biker.<\/p>\n

Above them\u2014<\/p>\n

a bright yellow sun.<\/p>\n

And written in shaky handwriting were four simple words.<\/p>\n

“My forever favorite person.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The biker’s knees nearly gave out.<\/p>\n

Emotion hit him like a wave.<\/p>\n

His daughter watched nervously.<\/p>\n

Then suddenly\u2014<\/p>\n

the biker dropped to one knee.<\/p>\n

Opening his arms.<\/p>\n

The little girl ran straight into them.<\/p>\n

Wrapping her arms around his neck.<\/p>\n

Holding on tightly.<\/p>\n

The biker hugged her back.<\/p>\n

Even tighter.<\/p>\n

As if he never wanted to let go.<\/p>\n

the other bikers quietly stopped working.<\/p>\n

Several smiled.<\/p>\n

A few looked away to hide their own tears.<\/p>\n

The little girl rested her head on his shoulder.<\/p>\n

“Are you happy you adopted me?”<\/p>\n

The question shattered what little composure he had left.<\/p>\n

Tears rolled freely down his face.<\/p>\n

He pulled back just enough to look into her eyes.<\/p>\n

His voice barely above a whisper.<\/p>\n

“Happy?”<\/p>\n

He shook his head.<\/p>\n

Still crying.<\/p>\n

Then smiled.<\/p>\n

“The day you became my daughter…”<\/p>\n

A pause.<\/p>\n

His hand gently brushed a strand of hair from her face.<\/p>\n

“…was the day my life finally made sense.”<\/p>\n

The little girl burst into happy tears.<\/p>\n

Throwing her arms around him again.<\/p>\n

The sunset painted the garage in gold.<\/p>\n

Motorcycles stood silently nearby.<\/p>\n

Tools rested untouched.<\/p>\n

Nothing else mattered.<\/p>\n

Because in that moment\u2014<\/p>\n

a little girl learned she was wanted.<\/p>\n

Chosen.<\/p>\n

Loved.<\/p>\n

And a biker learned that the greatest thing he had ever built wasn’t a motorcycle.<\/p>\n
