if all of you helped&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tears rolled down her cheeks.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230;maybe we could save it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The toughest men in Ash Hollow stood speechless.<\/p>\n<p>Because nobody had ever come to them like this.<\/p>\n<p>People crossed the street to avoid them.<\/p>\n<p>Locked their doors when they rode by.<\/p>\n<p>Warned their children to stay away.<\/p>\n<p>Yet this little girl had walked through a rainstorm believing they could save her family.<\/p>\n<p>Not because they were bikers.<\/p>\n<p>Because they were people.<\/p>\n<p>Mason slowly knelt until he was eye level with her.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What&#8217;s your name?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Emily.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And where&#8217;s your mom right now?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mason nodded.<\/p>\n<p>Then gently pushed the five dollars back into her hand.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Keep it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Emily looked confused.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But\u2014&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You&#8217;ll need it more than we do.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The little girl&#8217;s eyes widened.<\/p>\n<p>The bikers exchanged glances.<\/p>\n<p>Then one of them stepped forward.<\/p>\n<p>Then another.<\/p>\n<p>Then another.<\/p>\n<p>Within minutes wallets were coming out.<\/p>\n<p>Cash.<\/p>\n<p>Checks.<\/p>\n<p>Anything they had.<\/p>\n<p>Nobody spoke.<\/p>\n<p>They simply placed money on the workbench inside the garage.<\/p>\n<p>The pile grew.<\/p>\n<p>And grew.<\/p>\n<p>And grew.<\/p>\n<p>Emily stared in disbelief.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Is that enough?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>One biker wiped his eyes.<\/p>\n<p>Mason smiled softly.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It might be.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But then an older mechanic who had been listening quietly from inside Harper&#8217;s Auto Repair suddenly froze.<\/p>\n<p>His face turned pale.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What address did you say?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Emily told him.<\/p>\n<p>The mechanic nearly dropped his coffee.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I know that house.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Everyone looked at him.<\/p>\n<p>The mechanic swallowed hard.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That home belonged to the Miller family.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Emily nodded.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It still does.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The mechanic&#8217;s eyes moved toward Mason.<\/p>\n<p>Then back to Emily.<\/p>\n<p>A strange silence filled the garage.<\/p>\n<p>Because twenty years earlier\u2014<\/p>\n<p>before Mason Crowe became the most feared biker in town\u2014<\/p>\n<p>he had grown up in that exact house.<\/p>\n<p>The room went completely still.<\/p>\n<p>Mason stared at the little girl.<\/p>\n<p>His heartbeat suddenly racing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What did you say your last name was?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The girl blinked.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Miller.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The color drained from Mason&#8217;s face.<\/p>\n<p>Because the woman Emily called her mother wasn&#8217;t a stranger.<\/p>\n<p>She was his younger sister.<\/p>\n<p>The sister he hadn&#8217;t seen in nearly fifteen years.<\/p>\n<p>The sister who believed he had abandoned the family forever.<\/p>\n<p>Emily looked confused.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Why is everybody staring at me?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Nobody answered.<\/p>\n<p>Because standing in front of them was not just a little girl asking for help.<\/p>\n<p>She was family.<\/p>\n<p>And Mason Crowe had just discovered he had a niece he never knew existed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rain hammered the pavement.
