{"id":3592,"date":"2026-05-22T14:12:25","date_gmt":"2026-05-22T08:42:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/storytimes.online\/?p=3592"},"modified":"2026-05-22T14:12:25","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T08:42:25","slug":"part-2-the-sea-monster-called-her-mother","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/storytimes.online\/?p=3592","title":{"rendered":"PART 2: The Sea Monster Called Her Mother"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The black sea fell completely silent.<\/p>\n<p>No waves.<\/p>\n<p>No thunder.<\/p>\n<p>No wind.<\/p>\n<p>Thousands standing along the cliffs of Valdoria stared down into the motionless abyss with growing terror spreading across their faces.<\/p>\n<p>Because the ocean had stopped obeying nature itself.<\/p>\n<p>King Edric stepped backward from the cliff edge slowly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat have we done\u2026?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Below the surface\u2014<\/p>\n<p>Lyra floated helplessly before the ancient creature.<\/p>\n<p>Its glowing blue eyes were larger than castle towers.<\/p>\n<p>Black scales stretched endlessly into the darkness beneath her.<\/p>\n<p>The monster should not have existed.<\/p>\n<p>No living thing could be that enormous.<\/p>\n<p>Yet it bowed before her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMother\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The word echoed through the abyss like the voice of the sea itself.<\/p>\n<p>Lyra trembled violently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2026 I\u2019m not your mother.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The creature\u2019s eyes narrowed softly.<\/p>\n<p>Ancient sadness filled them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou carry her soul.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Suddenly the water around Lyra began glowing faintly silver.<\/p>\n<p>Symbols appeared across her skin beneath the torn white silk.<\/p>\n<p>Ancient markings.<\/p>\n<p>Forgotten language.<\/p>\n<p>Power.<\/p>\n<p>The creature slowly circled around her, careful not to touch her with its colossal body.<\/p>\n<p>Even its movement shook the ocean floor.<\/p>\n<p>Far above them, the cliffs of Valdoria trembled.<\/p>\n<p>Panic spread through the crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Priests dropped to their knees.<br \/>\nSoldiers backed away from the shoreline.<br \/>\nSome people began praying.<\/p>\n<p>Because the sea itself was waking up.<\/p>\n<p>Then the water exploded upward.<\/p>\n<p>A colossal shadow rose from the abyss.<\/p>\n<p>Screams erupted across the cliffs as the creature emerged from the black ocean for the first time in centuries.<\/p>\n<p>Massive jagged fins tore through the storm clouds.<\/p>\n<p>Black scales glistened like mountains beneath moonlight.<\/p>\n<p>Its enormous body stretched farther than the eye could see.<\/p>\n<p>People collapsed in terror.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Abyss King\u2026\u201d one old priest whispered.<\/p>\n<p>The ancient god of the sea.<\/p>\n<p>The destroyer from every forbidden legend.<\/p>\n<p>And resting safely near its massive crown\u2014<\/p>\n<p>was Lyra.<\/p>\n<p>Alive.<\/p>\n<p>King Edric stumbled<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The black sea fell completely silent.
