{"id":3404,"date":"2026-05-21T10:15:40","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T04:45:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/storytimes.online\/?p=3404"},"modified":"2026-05-21T10:15:40","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T04:45:40","slug":"part-2-the-queen-inside-the-light","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/storytimes.online\/?p=3404","title":{"rendered":"PART 2: The Queen Inside the Light"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The storm outside never stopped.<\/p>\n<p>Rain hammered against the towering palace windows while blue magical flames continued flickering across the shattered throne room.<\/p>\n<p>But the Queen was gone.<\/p>\n<p>Only silver particles drifted through the air like fading starlight above the broken marble floor.<\/p>\n<p>The King remained on his knees.<\/p>\n<p>Motionless.<\/p>\n<p>One trembling hand still stretched toward the empty space where she had been seconds earlier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo\u2026\u201d he whispered weakly.<\/p>\n<p>The word barely existed.<\/p>\n<p>Behind him, terrified nobles stood frozen beneath the chandeliers while royal guards slowly lowered their weapons in silence.<\/p>\n<p>Nobody dared move closer.<\/p>\n<p>Because the forbidden magic still lingered in the throne room.<\/p>\n<p>Alive.<\/p>\n<p>The blue flames suddenly bent sideways.<\/p>\n<p>As if the wind itself had changed direction.<\/p>\n<p>Then\u2014<\/p>\n<p>a soft voice echoed faintly through the hall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026Remember me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The King\u2019s eyes widened instantly.<\/p>\n<p>He looked up.<\/p>\n<p>The drifting silver particles had stopped fading.<\/p>\n<p>They were moving.<\/p>\n<p>Slowly circling above the throne like a galaxy of glowing dust.<\/p>\n<p>The royal mage stepped backward in fear.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s impossible\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The particles spun faster.<\/p>\n<p>Blue light pulsed violently across the walls while ancient symbols ignited beneath the marble floor one by one.<\/p>\n<p>The spell wasn\u2019t ending.<\/p>\n<p>It was transforming.<\/p>\n<p>The King slowly rose to his feet beneath the swirling light.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSelene\u2026\u201d he whispered.<\/p>\n<p>Then he saw it.<\/p>\n<p>Inside the storm of silver particles\u2014<\/p>\n<p>a figure.<\/p>\n<p>Faint.<\/p>\n<p>Transparent.<\/p>\n<p>But unmistakable.<\/p>\n<p>The outline of the Queen suspended within the glowing magic itself.<\/p>\n<p>Her face looked toward him softly through the swirling light.<\/p>\n<p>Not dead.<\/p>\n<p>Trapped.<\/p>\n<p>The throne room erupted into panic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe spell preserved her soul!\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cShut the magic circle down!\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cIt\u2019s becoming unstable!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But the King never looked away from her.<\/p>\n<p>The Queen raised one fading hand toward him through the storm of light.<\/p>\n<p>And suddenly\u2014<\/p>\n<p>every chandelier in the throne room exploded at once.<\/p>\n<p>Darkness swallowed the palace.<\/p>\n<p>Only the blue magical storm remained.<\/p>\n<p>The royal mage fell to his knees in horror.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour Majesty\u2026\u201d he whispered shakily.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe forbidden spell wasn\u2019t meant to save a life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lightning flashed across the windows.<\/p>\n<p>And for one terrifying second\u2014<\/p>\n<p>the Queen\u2019s glowing form opened her eyes completely inside the storm.<\/p>\n<p>Bright blue.<\/p>\n<p>No longer human.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was meant to bind one.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The storm outside never stopped.
