Tiffany\u2019s smile faltered.<\/p>\n

Just for a second.<\/p>\n

Then she scoffed louder, trying to reclaim the room.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s insane,\u201d she said, glancing at the phones. \u201cLook at her\u2014she thinks she\u2019s\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n

The cafeteria doors opened.<\/p>\n

Not slowly.<\/p>\n

Not casually.<\/p>\n

They slammed wide.<\/p>\n

Every phone turned at once.<\/p>\n

A man in a dark suit walked in first, followed by two more. No teacher behind them. No school staff. Just silence moving with them like it belonged there.<\/p>\n

The laughter stopped completely.<\/p>\n

One by one, students lowered their phones.<\/p>\n

Because they recognized him.<\/p>\n

District legal counsel.<\/p>\n

Tiffany\u2019s confidence shifted.<\/p>\n

\u201cUh\u2026 what is this?\u201d she said, forcing a laugh. \u201cThis is a private matter\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n

The man didn\u2019t look at her.<\/p>\n

He walked straight to the drenched scholarship student.<\/p>\n

And stopped.<\/p>\n

\u201cAria Lin?\u201d he asked gently.<\/p>\n

The girl nodded once.<\/p>\n

Behind him, one of the assistants raised a tablet.<\/p>\n

On the screen: the live stream replay.<\/p>\n

Uncut.<\/p>\n

Timestamped.<\/p>\n

Everything.<\/p>\n

The bucket.<\/p>\n

The laughter.<\/p>\n

The words.<\/p>\n

Tiffany\u2019s face tightened.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s edited,\u201d she snapped immediately. \u201cShe planned this\u2014she\u2019s\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n

The lawyer finally looked at her.<\/p>\n

Not angry.<\/p>\n

Not loud.<\/p>\n

Just certain.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve already confirmed the original feed from your class cameras,\u201d he said calmly.<\/p>\n

The room went still again.<\/p>\n

Even Tiffany\u2019s friends stopped moving.<\/p>\n

The drenched girl\u2014Aria\u2014slowly pushed herself up from the floor, water still dripping onto the marble.<\/p>\n

But now, nobody was laughing.<\/p>\n

Tiffany tried to recover.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t just believe her over\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not,\u201d the lawyer interrupted.<\/p>\n

A pause.<\/p>\n

Then he lifted the tablet slightly.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re believing the evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n

The cafeteria screens along the walls flickered on automatically.<\/p>\n

And the entire school watched the footage begin to play.<\/p>\n

Frame by frame.<\/p>\n

Silence replacing every sound Tiffany had built her world on.<\/p>\n

And for the first time\u2014<\/p>\n
