Mommy said it was quieter there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A pause.<\/p>\n<p>The woman\u2019s throat tightened.<\/p>\n<p>River.<\/p>\n<p>That word unlocked something sharp inside her memory\u2014like a door being forced open.<\/p>\n<p>She had searched once.
