Older. Worn down. But unmistakably alive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMarcus\u2026\u201d someone whispered.<\/p>\n<p>The little boy looked up quietly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI told Mom you weren\u2019t dead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The massive biker staggered backward, staring at the man he personally lowered into a grave years earlier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe buried you,\u201d he said shakily.<\/p>\n<p>Marcus lowered his eyes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo,\u201d he replied softly. \u201cYou buried an empty coffin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cold wind swept through the yard again.<\/p>\n<p>Every biker stood frozen as years of lies suddenly cracked open.<\/p>\n<p>The little boy stepped closer to Marcus carefully, clutching the toy motorcycle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou came back,\u201d he whispered.<\/p>\n<p>Marcus knelt slowly in front of him, emotion breaking through the hardened look in his eyes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI promised I would.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The massive biker looked between them, confused and angry all at once.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy would you fake your death?\u201d he demanded.<\/p>\n<p>Marcus stood again, his expression darkening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause somebody inside this yard sold us out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Silence hit harder than thunder.<\/p>\n<p>Several bikers exchanged nervous looks instantly.<\/p>\n<p>The fog still curled around the fences while old memories returned like ghosts none of them escaped.<\/p>\n<p>Marcus reached into his jacket and pulled out a faded photograph.<\/p>\n<p>A photo of the club standing together years ago.<\/p>\n<p>One face had been crossed out in black ink.<\/p>\n<p>And suddenly, everyone understood.<\/p>\n<p>The dead biker hadn\u2019t returned for revenge against enemies outside the gate.<\/p>\n<p>He came back for someone inside it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The entire biker yard went silent.
