The operator carefully held up the modified sidearm for everyone to see.<\/p>\n

One tiny adjustment.<\/p>\n

Almost invisible.<\/p>\n

But deadly.<\/p>\n

The weapon\u2019s sight had been intentionally altered.<\/p>\n

Enough to throw every shot off target.<\/p>\n

Vasquez slowly rose from the dirt, stunned.<\/p>\n

He simply removed a combat knife from his vest and used the handle to knock the pistol against the metal range table.<\/p>\n

A hidden piece fell loose onto the ground.<\/p>\n

Several soldiers stepped back instantly.<\/p>\n

Because now everyone could see it clearly.<\/p>\n

Deliberate tampering.<\/p>\n

The operator\u2019s eyes never left Cain.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow many others?\u201d he asked coldly.<\/p>\n

For the first time all day\u2014<\/p>\n

Cain looked afraid.<\/p>\n

The command vehicles stopped beside the range seconds later.<\/p>\n

Two military investigators stepped out alongside a decorated Colonel whose face hardened the moment he saw the weapon.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat happened here?\u201d the Colonel demanded.<\/p>\n

The SEAL operator handed him the pistol silently.<\/p>\n

The Colonel inspected it once.<\/p>\n

Then looked directly at Cain with disgust.<\/p>\n

Silence crushed the range.<\/p>\n

The unit standing behind Vasquez no longer looked entertained.<\/p>\n

Because many of them laughed while she was humiliated.<\/p>\n

The SEAL operator finally stepped closer.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo,\u201d he said quietly.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou destroyed it yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Military police moved forward immediately.<\/p>\n

And for the first time since taking control of the range\u2014<\/p>\n

Sergeant Cain had nothing left to say.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Vasquez stood silently beneath the blazing sun while the SEAL operator handed her back the repaired rifle.<\/p>\n
