blinked.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1527\" data-end=\"1551\">\u201cYou had a little girl?\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1553\" data-end=\"1578\">The sheriff smiled sadly.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1580\" belong alone in a dead town.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2817\" data-end=\"2865\">Emily slowly crawled out from beneath the wagon.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2867\" data-end=\"2910\">Weak legs.<br \/>\nDirty dress.<br \/>\nTiny shaking hands.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2912\" data-end=\"2997\">The sheriff immediately stood but kept his movements gentle so he wouldn\u2019t scare her.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2999\" data-end=\"3050\">Up close, she looked even smaller than he realized.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3052\" data-end=\"3070\">And far too alone.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3072\" data-end=\"3164\">The sheriff carefully wrapped his coat around her shoulders against the cooling evening air.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3166\" data-end=\"3192\">Emily clutched it tightly.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3194\" data-end=\"3244\">It smelled like leather, dust, and campfire smoke.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3246\" data-end=\"3258\">Safe smells.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3260\" data-end=\"3335\">The sheriff helped her onto the horse slowly before climbing up behind her.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3337\" data-end=\"3448\">As the horse began walking through the silent western street, Emily looked back noticed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3536\" data-end=\"3575\">\u201cYou ready to leave this place behind?\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3577\" data-end=\"3617\">Emily leaned carefully back against
