data-start=\"2049\" data-end=\"2063\">One slow step.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2065\" data-end=\"2119\">Rain thundered against the broken windows behind them.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2121\" data-end=\"2173\">\u201cYou came into the wrong diner,\u201d Mason said quietly.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2175\" data-end=\"2199\">The gunman laughed once.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2201\" data-end=\"2233\">Then motorcycles roared outside.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2235\" data-end=\"2243\">Not one.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2245\" data-end=\"2252\">Dozens.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2254\" data-end=\"2329\">Headlights cut through the rain-streaked darkness surrounding the building.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2331\" data-end=\"2362\">The gunman\u2019s smile disappeared.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2364\" data-end=\"2416\">A biker near the window looked outside and muttered\u2014<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2418\" data-end=\"2433\">\u201cThey\u2019re here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2435\" data-end=\"2488\">Mason never looked away from the men in front of him.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2490\" data-end=\"2530\">Because he already knew who had arrived.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2532\" data-end=\"2549\">The Creed Riders.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2551\" data-end=\"2588\">Every available brother within range.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2590\" data-end=\"2633\">Called before the glass even hit the floor.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2635\" data-end=\"2674\">The diner doors swung open behind them.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2676\" data-end=\"2690\">Leather vests.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2805\">The armed men finally looked uncertain.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2807\" data-end=\"2837\">Mason cracked his neck slowly.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2839\" data-end=\"2881\">Then pointed toward the shattered doorway.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2883\" data-end=\"2917\">\u201cYou had one chance to walk away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2919\" data-end=\"2953\">Silence tightened around the room.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2955\" data-end=\"2997\">The lead gunman gripped his weapon harder.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2999\" data-end=\"3009\">\u201cOr what?\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3011\" data-end=\"3038\">Mason glanced once at Noah\u2014<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3040\" data-end=\"3070\">the son he never knew existed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3072\" data-end=\"3109\">Then back at the men
