Nobody in the room could pull their eyes away from the scarred biker standing beneath the flickering neon lights.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"407\" data-end=\"433\">Logan barely noticed them.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"435\" data-end=\"531\">His eyes stayed locked on the words written across the back of the photograph in faded blue ink.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"533\" data-end=\"573\">If she ever finds you\u2026 tell her I tried.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"575\" data-end=\"580\">Mara.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"582\" data-end=\"631\">The handwriting punched through him like a blade.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"633\" data-end=\"686\">For ten years he had believed Mara Sullivan was dead.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"688\" data-end=\"912\">Burned alive after the warehouse ambush that destroyed half the Iron Saints and turned Logan Creed into a ghost hunted across three states. He remembered the fire. The screaming metal. Less certain.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1252\" data-end=\"1258\">\u201cAva.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1260\" data-end=\"1309\">The little girl pushed the drawing closer to him.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1311\" data-end=\"1380\">\u201cMy mommy said you ride a black motorcycle with a silver wolf on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1382\" data-end=\"1406\">Logan\u2019s chest tightened.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1408\" data-end=\"1495\">Nobody outside the Iron Saints knew about the silver wolf painted beneath his gas tank.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1497\" data-end=\"1516\">Nobody except Mara.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1518\" data-end=\"1568\">Outside, engines rumbled louder beneath the storm.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1570\" data-end=\"1642\">The waitress behind the counter whispered nervously to another customer.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1644\" data-end=\"1659\">\u201cThey\u2019re back\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1661\" data-end=\"1709\">Logan glanced through the rain-streaked windows.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1711\" data-end=\"1770\">Five motorcycles waited beneath the gas station lights now.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1772\" data-end=\"1784\">Iron Saints.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1786\" data-end=\"1861\">Every one of them dressed in black leather cut through with silver patches.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1863\" data-end=\"1901\">But Logan\u2019s eyes narrowed immediately.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1903\" data-end=\"1925\">Those weren\u2019t his men.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1927\" data-end=\"1973\">The wolves stitched onto their backs were red.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1975\" data-end=\"1985\">A warning.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1987\" data-end=\"1999\">A challenge.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2001\" data-end=\"2035\">Someone had taken over the Saints.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2037\" data-end=\"2071\">Ava\u2019s small voice pulled him back.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2073\" data-end=\"2112\">\u201cMom said bad men were looking for us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2114\" data-end=\"2140\">Logan looked at her again.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2142\" data-end=\"2169\">\u201cWhere is your mother now?\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2171\" data-end=\"2214\">The little girl\u2019s brave expression wavered.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2216\" data-end=\"2334\">\u201cShe told me to hide in the diner and wait for you.\u201d Her voice dropped to almost a whisper. \u201cBut she never came back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2336\" data-end=\"2362\">Lightning flashed outside.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2364\" data-end=\"2406\">The front motorcycles shut off one by one.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2408\" data-end=\"2431\">Boots hit wet pavement.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2433\" data-end=\"2465\">Logan\u2019s jaw tightened instantly.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2467\" data-end=\"2523\">He recognized the tall rider climbing off the lead bike.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2525\" data-end=\"2536\">Derek Voss.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2538\" data-end=\"2595\">Second-in-command of the Iron Saints before the betrayal.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2597\" data-end=\"2613\">Before the fire.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2615\" data-end=\"2646\">Before Logan was declared dead.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2648\" data-end=\"2703\">The diner doors burst open under the howl of the storm.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2705\" data-end=\"2834\">Cold wind slammed through the room as the bikers entered one at a time, water dripping from leather jackets onto the floor tiles.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2836\" data-end=\"2882\">Every customer shrank lower into their booths.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2884\" data-end=\"2947\">Derek\u2019s eyes swept across the diner until they landed on Logan.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2949\" data-end=\"2994\">For a second, genuine shock crossed his face.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2996\" data-end=\"3018\">Then he smiled slowly.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3020\" data-end=\"3077\">\u201cWell,\u201d Derek muttered. \u201cLooks like the dead still ride.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3079\" data-end=\"3138\">Logan stood from the booth without taking his eyes off him.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3140\" data-end=\"3231\">Behind him, Ava quietly grabbed the edge of his leather jacket with tiny trembling fingers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3233\" data-end=\"3325\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">And for the first time in years, Logan Creed realized he finally had something left to lose.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thunder exploded across the Oklahoma sky as Logan Creed stared at the photograph in his shaking hands.
