\/>\nHis eyes lowered back to her.<br \/>\nAnd something inside him broke a little.<br \/>\nBecause years ago, Rose had stood bleeding beside a burning motorcycle wreck and dragged him out before the flames reached the fuel tank.<br \/>\nShe saved him.<br \/>\nThen vanished before dawn.<br \/>\nNow her daughter was standing in front of him shaking with fear.<br \/>\nFamily.<br \/>\nThat word suddenly carried weight again.<br \/>\n\u201cWhere\u2019s your mother now?\u201d he asked softly.<br \/>\nKatie\u2019s eyes filled instantly. \u201cThey took her.\u201d<br \/>\nThe room changed completely.<br \/>\nNo laughter now.<br \/>\nNo movement.<br \/>\nJust anger settling into heavy silence.<br \/>\nThe biker crouched slightly to her level. \u201cWho took her?\u201d<br this.\u201d<br \/>\nThe biker unfolded it carefully.<br \/>\nInside\u2014<br \/>\na silver lighter engraved with a wolf.<br \/>\nHis wolf.<br \/>\nThe exact lighter Rose had carried the night she disappeared.<br \/>\nHis breathing stopped for a second.<br \/>\nThen Katie whispered:<br \/>\n\u201cShe said if you saw this\u2026 you\u2019d know she was running out of time.\u201d<br wolf-patched biker\u2019s expression darkened instantly.<br \/>\nKatie saw the change and gripped his arm tighter. \u201cThey found me\u2026\u201d<br \/>\nEvery biker in the diner stood at once.<br \/>\nNot chaotic.<br \/>\nNot loud.<br \/>\nReady.<br \/>\nThe massive biker slipped the lighter into his vest pocket and gently moved Katie behind him.<br \/>\nThen he looked toward the front door as engines rumbled outside beneath the amber glow of the diner lights.<br \/>\n\u201cListen carefully,\u201d he said quietly to her.<br \/>\nKatie nodded, trembling.<br \/>\n\u201cNo matter what happens
